Our Famous White Sandy Beaches - 15 minutes from the door at Port Macquarie, Bonny Hills, Laurieton and Lake Cathie Clean, unspoilt beaches, many are patrolled. You can choose from the half a dozen Port Macquarie beaches in the north. Down the coast through Lake Cathie, Bonny Hills to Camden Haven and Laurieton in the south. These beaches are the pick of the mid north coast beaches for surfing or just family fun. Most beaches have picnic areas, toilet and shower facilities.

BILLABONG KOALA PARK

Billabong Koala Park - Open Every Day Australian Nature Park between Wauchope and Port Macquarie, just off the Oxley Highway. Come and cuddle a Koala, enjoy Australia's wonderful wildlife, kangaroo's & wallabies, rabbits, wombats, emu's, lorikeets and other native birds. This koala breeding centre has easy parking, souvenir & gift shop, catering & refreshment services. BBQ facilities are available and they cater for the disabled. Concessions apply for social groups, educational tours and coach groups. You could spend all day strolling through the garden's and past the water lily ponds.

WINERIES

Hastings Valley Winery's are famous for their fine wine. Bago Vineyard - This winery is 8km's south of Wauchope off Bago Road. Cassegrains Winery - Cellar door is 2km's north of the Oxley Hwy interchange. It has a restaurant overlooking the vineyards. Innes Lake Vineyard - 5km's east of the Oxley/Pacific Hwy interchange. The restaurant here is also highly recommended. Long Point Vineyard - Just off the Pacific Hwy heading towards Bonny Hills/Wauchope Surf Life Saving Club. Cellar door open most days. Sherwood Wine Embassy - Is located at the Oxley/Pacific Hwy interchange and offers fine wine tasting from it's local vineyards.

HORSE RIDING

Horse riding The Hastings Valley offers some of the best scenery to go horse riding through. A number of local operators can cater for the beginner through to the very experienced rider.

WATER TOURS

Hastings Water Tours - available 7 days. There are many water tourist operators ranging from self hire boats and BBQ boats, Everglades Tours, Dolphin Watch tours, Parasailing, Aquaplane, Jet ski hire. The Hastings River is a pleasurable way to see the Hastings from Port Macquarie to Wauchope.

GO CART RACING

Pacific Park International Kart Racing Circuit - open 7 days. ARK - Adrenalin Rush Carting operates from the Pacific Park circuit located just 3kms south of the Oxley/Pacific Hwy interchange. The complex operates 7 days a week and offers the best 2 stroke racing and Kart hire at affordable prices. Whether you are a first timer or an experienced driver they have a kart and tuition to suit you. Corporate Days and driver training are held regularly.

4WD & Eco TOurs

4WD & Eco Tours - available most days. Wauchope is the start of the Hastings hinterland. It ventures through bush trails to historic pioneer sawmilling and mining sites. Enjoy the tranquillity of hidden rainforests, cascading waterfalls and breath taking mountain views. ATV Quad Bike tours also available from beach to forest - no experience needed. A great way to have fun with your friends.

FISHING

Wauchope and Port Macquarie - Fishing Port Macquarie is the home of the Golden Lure Fishing Tournament. Many deep sea fishing charters are available from Port Macquarie - choose between a full day or half day charter with bait and tackle supplied. You may prefer to hire your own boat and fish the Hastings River. Most fishing charters leave from the Port Macquarie Town Green wharf or the Port Macquarie Marina near Settlement City Shopping Centre.
